Ang J and C Drugmart ay itinayo bilang isang pagpupugay sa alaala nina Jose at Clarita Altoveros Calma— dalawang taong minahal at iginalang ng mga nakakakilala sa kanila sa bayan ng Talavera, Nueva Ecija, dahil sa kanilang dakilang kabutihan, malasakit, at pagiging bukas-palad. Ang pangalan ng aming botika ay hango sa kanilang mga inisyal, bilang simbolo ng pagpapatuloy sa kanilang naiwan na pamana ng pagmamalasakit sa kapwa.
Itinatag ang J and C Drugmart noong 2023 ni Laila Altoveros Calma, isang dating nurse sa Saudi Arabia na nagsilbi nang halos tatlong dekada. Sa di inaasahang pangyayari, siya ay napilitang tumigil sa pagsisilbi sa kapwa dahil sa malubhang sakit na dumapo sa kanya dala ng Covid-19. Siya ay pinagpalang nakaligtas at dahil doon, hindi nawala ang kanyang hangaring maglingkod at tumulong sa kapwa. Sa pamamagitan ng J and C Drugmart, ipinagpatuloy niya ang serbisyong medikal sa isang bagong anyo- ang makapaghatid sa ating mga mamamayan ng mga gamot at pangunahing pangangailangan sa abot-kayang halaga.
Nasimulan ang J and C Drugmart sa tulong ni Joycelyn Calma de la Cruz, RPh., apo nina Jose at Clarita.
Isa sa mga layunin ng aming botika ay ang mapalapit ang serbisyo sa mga tao — kaya’t matatagpuan ang aming mga botika sa mga barangay at sa mataong lugar ng bayan. Sa ganitong paraan, hindi na kailangang bumiyahe nang malayo o makipagsiksikan upang makabili ng gamot o ibang produkto para sa kalusugan. Sa loob ng maikling panahon, kami ay nagpapasalamat sa Maykapal at nadagdagan na ang aming lokasyon. Sa J and C Drugmart, hindi lang murang gamot ang aming iniaalok — kundi serbisyong may puso, alaala ng kabutihan nina Jose at Clarita, at dedikasyong ipagpatuloy ito para sa mga susunod pang henerasyon.

J and C Drugmart was established as a tribute to the memory of Jose and Clarita — two people deeply loved and respected by those who knew them in the town of Talavera, Nueva Ecija, because of their great kindness, compassion, and generosity. The name of our pharmacy is derived from their initials, symbolizing the continuation of the legacy of caring for others that they left behind.
It was founded in 2023 by Laila Altoveros Calma, a former nurse in Saudi Arabia who served for nearly three decades. Due to unfortunate circumstances, she was forced to stop serving others after contracting COVID-19. However, even though she has not fully recovered, her desire to serve and help others never diminished. Through J and C Drugmart, she continues medical service in a new form: providing affordable medicines and essential needs to the people.One of the goals of our pharmacy is to bring services closer to the people — which is why our stores are located in barangays outside the busy town center. This way, people no longer have to travel far or deal with crowded places just to buy medicines or other health products.
J and C Drugmart was established with the help of Joycelyn Calma de la Cruz, RPh., granddaughter of Jose and Clarita.
In a short period, we thank the Creator as our locations have increased — from a humble beginning of one branch, we now have several branches not just in Talavera, but in nearby cities as well- proof of the people’s trust in our mission and quality of service.
